I believe that lighting serves not only the function of providing illumination but also offers a sense of security, tranquility, and, perhaps grandiosely, hope to people.
Lighting design is known for providing sensory experiences beyond its functional purpose, a characteristic it shares with plants. Both humans and plants require each other and share a fundamental need for light.
Light is essential for life.
Considering the harmonious relationship between light, plants, and people, we decided to incorporate a plant artist Satoshi Kawamoto into this installation.

Step into “Dissect,” Ambientec’s radiant installation. Named for the meticulous study of internal parts, it beckons you to unravel the intricacies of crafted lamps and the surrounding greenery.
I often observe an intertwining connection or similarity between nature and technology, like the veins of leaves mirroring LED motherboards and insect parts resembling the tiny screws and thin cables used in the back of lighting equipment. “Dissect” might seem like an unusual choice for the installation’s name, but we encourage visitors to scrutinize, appreciate, and study these details—a celebration where the beauty of design converges with the wonders of nature.
